Bonnie, Why Won’t You Hit Me Up?

"Bonnie, Why Won't You Hit Me Up?" was the first project that pushed the boundaries of what Bubba could sound like on the track. This album is an apology letter to the person you love, a tracklist of songs that show the different stages in a passion-filled relationship.

"BWWYHMU" is John Cusack in the driveway with a boom box over his head. It's a story of losing someone that you cannot live without and the pursuit of getting that person back no matter what.

Bubba's goal for this album is not necessarily to tell his story but to let others reminiscence on a past relationship that has contributed to their growth as a person. Whether it's a feeling of pain or joy, a feeling you've just started to feel, or something that's long lost, Bubba wants this project to transport you into those memories and emotions. Of course, nothing lasts, and we as people need to move on; however, Bubba wants his audience to cherish every moment in life and that those moments are essential in making us who we are.

Everyone we come across and experience is vital in our authentic journey to a bigger goal. At times we may not understand what that goal is, and in the grand scheme of things, we may never know. However, what's valuable is the perspective to keep growing along the way, understand yourself, and empathize with others. The process of getting there is often the most enjoyable experience. Sadly, in our capitalist society, we're too caught up in our self-seeking aspirations to cherish those moments. Run by the ego, people may lose sight of what's important, and usually, the realization hits once it's too late.
